Founded in 2015 by Seanie Sugrue and Amanda Martin, Locked In The Attic Productions is a theater and movie production company that has rigorously put out Seanie's original plays and screenplays, partnered with NYEH entertainment, to an ecstatic reception. Backed by a talented cast and crew, we plan to continue bringing shows to our audience for years to come, the grittier and dirtier the better.
Seanie Sugrue, co-founder of Locked in the Attic Productions, is originally from Tralee, County Kerry in Ireland. While producing the feature film Catch 22: based on the unwritten story by seanie sugrue, he wrote his first play Black Me Out!. It premiered at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City in June 2015 and again later that same year at The Kraine Theater in the East Village, New York City. Sugrue’s sophomore play Fade To Black! opened at The Secret Theatre in November 2015 and his third play One Way to Pluto! quickly followed at the 13th St Repertory in the West Village in March 2016. His fourth and controversial production, Love is Dead! debuted at the 13th St Repertory in June 2016 and is being brought back September 2017 to The Secret Theatre. Catch 22: based on the unwritten story by seanie sugrue, directed by Josh Folan, played at festivals across the country throughout 2016 and is scheduled for North American release in January 2017. Love is Dead! has also been adapted into a screenplay by NYEH Entertainment and is in post-production. His fifth and sixth plays, Fancy Theater Blues! and Merry Christmas Baby! (just f**king die), in December 2016 to The Secret Theatre where Locked In The Attic Productions came to fruition. Sugrue is currently writing his debut novel Cardboard Coffins, adding to his already published works Black Me Out!, Love is Dead! and Merry Christmas Baby!
